My Favorite Recipes

So, I like all the recipes here on An Eat’n Man. Otherwise I wouldn’t have cooked them, photographed them and then presented them to you in this handy blog format.  But, like anyone, there are certain dishes that I find myself going back to again and again over the years.  And so, I guess I would have to say these are my favorites of my own recipes.

A while back I made a page for the most popular recipes here at An Eat’n Man, the ones that get the most hits.  And so, I thought it would be fun to make a list of the ones that are the biggest hits with yours truly.  So I’ve picked out a little over a dozen—a sweet sixteen, in fact—and present them forthwith for your dining pleasure.  A couple are what I might call my signature dishes—recipes that I make and consider my best.  Some are just favorites that I enjoy over and over, and a couple are perhaps rare extravagances that I don’t make a lot, but I’m quite proud of.

And so, here they are, in no particular order:  The Eat’n Man’s favorite recipes.

This was a recipe that I just made up on the fly one day when someone brought me a really nice breast of duck.  It turned out to be a hit, and I’ve made it several more times to great acclaim.

This is one of those signature dishes I mentioned.  I’ve spent over twenty years perfecting my brisket technique, and this is more than a recipe, but instead a full treatise on how I smoke my briskets.

Signature dish numero two-o.  It just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving or Christmas without these spuds, originally inspired by Babe’s Chicken House, though now I believe this recipe beats them at their own game.

One of those extravagances that I don’t do a lot, but when I do, there’s nothing else like it for flavor and presentation.

Another signature dish of mine that I spent many moons perfecting after trying a spectacular example in Lyon, France.

This quirky little dish is great pub-grub, and just fun to make.

An unusual dish that I discovered in a little paperback Italian cookbook I got back in my bachelor days.  It became a date night favorite.

Who knew beets could tastes soooo good.

My all time favorite dish at Macaroni Grill, which they serve no more, but I still do.

As fun to say as it is to eat, this German cutlet with mushrooms is ser gut.

This one took me forever to perfect, and it’s a chore to make, but well worth it.

The most heavenly and decadent potato dish you’ll ever eat.

My signature chili recipe, perfect on a cold winter’s day.

Perhaps the perfect way to serve veal, or even chicken, this was once another date night favorite.

A little Dutch-style salmon treat.

Scallops are great on their own, but they’re even better in this gussied up French recipe.

So there you have it, some of my favs from the blog that I go to time and again.  Give 'em a try, and let me know what you think.

Until next time,

Chris
